Agreed decision: This proposal was considered at the meeting of the Joint Committee on Jobs, Social Protection and Education on 9th May 2012. Based on the information provided by the lead Department regarding the significance of the proposal, if agreed, and also the fact that other EU Member States have expressed subsidiarity and other concerns regarding this proposal, it was agreed that this proposal warrants further scrutiny. It was agreed therefore, to request officials from the lead Department to attend before the Committee next week to explain fully this proposal, and also, a related proposal, COM(2012)131, if possible in order to assist it in its scrutiny of these proposals, at which point the Committee can decide whether it wishes to take further action.
