The Committee on EU Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia discussed the proposal again at it’s 167th meeting of 23 March 2018 and adopted the following Position:

The Republic of Slovenia supports the recast of VAT rules for small enterprises which simplifies VAT obligations of small enterprises, thereby reducing administrative burdens and costs for taxable persons, and ensures equal treatment of businesses carrying cross-border operations and businesses operating only on the market of the Member State in which they are established.
The Republic of Slovenia advocates the simplification of the existing VAT obligations for small enterprises, while it will strive during the adoption procedures in EU institutions for measures that will relieve businesses and enable them to grow more rapidly which will simultaneously ensure transparency of operations, allowing for an efficient supervision of the tax authority and ensuring the sustainability of public finances.
