The Committee on European Affairs of the Hungarian National Assembly decided to launch scrutiny procedure on the legislative proposal on its meeting of 19 March 2012.
The Committee on Agriculture  has been asked to build opinion on the EU draft at the beginning of the procedure.
The Committee on European Affairs discussed the EU proposal on its meeting of 26 June 2012. In course of its meeting the representative of the Government gave an oral brief on the goals of the draft and highlighted the main elements of its negotiating position.
The Committee on Agriculture debated the EU proposal on its meeting of 5 July 2012. The elaborated opinion was then forwarded to the Committee on European Affairs.
The government informed the Committee on European Affairs about the recent developments of the decision-making process of the Council on 4 March 2013.
The state of play of the EU decision-making process was discussed in detail by the Committee on Agriculture following the presentation of the competent State Secretary.
The Committee on Agriculture finalized its opinion on the EU draft on 11 March and forwarded it to the Committtee on European Affairs.
The Committee on European Affairs adopted its standpoint on the governmental position pertaining to the EU draft on its meeting of 12 March 2013.Following the general approach reached at the Council, the Government informed the Committee about the state of play of the EU decision making process in a written report.
After the political agreement reached on the CAP reform by the Irish Presidency, the Government informed the Committee about the recent developments of the EU decision making process in a written report of 17 July 2013.
Subsequently to the consent of the EP, the MFF dossier and the related sectoral proposals (CEF, CAP, Cohesion Policy) was reviewed and debated on the meeting of the Committee of European Affairs of 25 November 2013.
Since the new regulation was published in the EU Official Journal of 20 December 2013 (L/347/549), the scrutiny procedure is closed.
