Information on parliamentary scrutiny

This proposal was considered at the meeting of the Joint Committee on Environment, Transport, Culture and the Gaeltacht on 13th March 2012. It was agreed that the Proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. The Committee has, however, asked for a comprehensive briefing note from the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht outlining the key elements in the Programme, with specific reference to: - The types of organisations that could potentially benefit from it in this country and, if so, in what way; - How the Department proposes to ensure the relevant organisations are made aware of the Programme and the available funds; - any current or proposed liaison there is regarding the Programme with other relevant Government Departments and Agencies such as the Departments of Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation; Communications, Energy and Natural Resources and Education and Skills.; - examples/case studies of beneficiaries from the existing Culture, MEDIA and Media Mundus Programmes.
