Information on parliamentary scrutiny

The committees on Immigration and Asylum/Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) Council and Security and Justice are actively scrutinizing the European Data protection proposals. So far, the committees have held 9 written consultations with the Dutch government about the proposals. The government is also obliged to regulary inform the Senate about the progress in the negotiations.

In addition, on 21 May 2012 a letter was sent to the European Commission with additional questions and remarks about the European personal data protection proposals. The committees received a reply on 22 February 2013.

Finally, the committees also hold written deliberations with the Dutch government on the proposal.
