The Committee decided on 2012-11-20 to ask the Government to present its assessment on the application of the principle of subsidiarity in the draft legislative act.

Referred to the Committee on Civil Affairs.

The Committee has concluded that the proposal is in breach of the principle of subsidiarity. A proposal for a reasoned opinion has been submitted to the Chamber for consideration in statement 2012/13:CU14 Subsidiaritetsprövning av direktivförslag om en jämnare könsfördelning bland icke verkställande styrelseledamöter i börsnoterade företag.

The statement has been debated and decided upon by the Chamber. Consideration concluded with the Chamber adopting a reasoned opinion.

The Commission's reply to the statement from the Swedish Parliament has been received.

The Committee on Civil Affairs deliberated with the Government on the matter on 2014-12-04.
