The Government submitted the EU document No. 14422/15 to the Chamber of Deputies on 24/11/2015.

The Committee for European Affairs decided on 2/12/2015 by its Resolution No. 207 to deliberate on the document and appointed the member Mr. Roman Váňa as rapporteur.

The Committee for European Affairs at its 40th meeting by resolution No. 206

1. disegrees with the European Commission's intention to limit the possibility of the acquisition and possession of weapons, which are legally held and used in accordance with the national law of the Member States of the European Union;

2. rejects the interference of the European Commission in the functioning control system, accounting, acquisition and possession of weapons and ammunition set by the Czech law;

3. expresses its support for the establishment of functional measures that will lead to combat illegal trade, acquisition, possession and other illegal handling of weapons, munitions and explosives;

4. rejects the European Commissions persecution of the Member States and their citizens unjustified tightening of lawful possession of firearms; in response to the tragic events connected with terrorist acts in Paris

5. recommends the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic to take all legal and diplomatic measures to prevent the adoption of such a directive, which would interfere the Czech law in business, control, acquisition and possession of weapons and inappropriately interfere so with the rights of citizens of the Czech Republic.
