The Committee on the Economy discussed the Proposal on 23 June 2016 and

The Committee on EU Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia adopted at the meeting held on 24 June 2016 the following Position

The Republic of Slovenia supports the efforts made by the European Commission towards the establishment of a fair, efficient and growth-friendly system for ensuring an appropriate business environment in the Single Market. Slovenia considers the Commission’s approach in the form of Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directive 2013/34/EU as regards disclosure of income tax information by certain undertakings and branches (hereinafter: the Proposal) to be an adequate way to increase the transparency of operations of the companies. The solutions presented in the Proposal will also serve as an additional tool to combat tax avoidance and tax evasion. Notwithstanding the above, the Republic of Slovenia has reservations concerning certain solutions in the Proposal as they raise concerns about the proportionality of the measures and new obligations.

Given the need for a thorough examination of the text, the Republic of Slovenia enters a scrutiny reservation on the Proposal.
