The Committee for European Affairs decided on 1/25/2017 by its Resolution No. 347 to deliberate on the document and appointed the Chairman Mr. Ondřej Benešík as rapporteur.

The Committee for European Affairs at its 62nd meeting on 3/21/2017 by Resolution No. 365 

I.

supports the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Regulation (EC) no. 45/2001 and Decision no. 1247/2002 / EC;


supports the Government’s Framework Position on this Proposal;


is of the opinion that the Union institutions and bodies should consult elaboration of internal rules relating to the processing of data under Article 41 of the Proposal with the European Data Protection Supervisor with regard to a possibility of limiting the rights of data subjects under Article 25 and allowing the processing of personal data relating to judgments in criminal matters and criminal offenses under Article 11;

II.
supports the Proposal for a Regulation on privacy and electronic communications and its goal to ensure protection of users privacy fgiven the adequacy of proposed rights and obligations of service and equipment providers regarding the free provision of services;

supports the Government’s Framework Position on this Proposal;

 considers it essential to define clearly the scope of the Proposal in relation to the general regulation on the protection of personal data, the Proposal of the  European Code for Electronic Communications and Directive 2000/31 / EC on electronic commerce;

III.
takes note of the Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council Exchanging and Protecting Personal Data in a Globalised World;


IV.
nominates the Chairman of the Committee on EU affairs to submit this resolution to the Chairman of the European Commission  within the framework of political dialogue.
