On 11 September 2018, the Bureau of the Joint Committee for EU Affairs decided to appoint a rapporteur to jointly examine the compliance with the principle of subsidiarity of the initiatives COM (2018) 372 final, COM (2018) 498 final and COM (2018) 614 final.

On 20 September 2018, the Joint Committee for EU Affairs adopted a Resolution regarding the compliance of the initiatives with the principle of subsidiarity. The Resolution states that both proposals are in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity.
