This proposal has been discussed during a meeting held within the relevant working group of the Foreign and European Affairs Committee on 2 December 2020. No decision has yet been taken as to whether a Reasoned Opinion will be issued on this proposal.

On 13 January, the Minister for Sustainable Development, Implementation of the Electoral Manifesto, Social Dialogue gave a presentation outlining Malta's initial position on this dossier. Following to the Minister's presentation the Working Group proposed to the Foreign and European Affairs Committee to issue a reasoned opinion. 

Following clearance from the Foreign and European Affairs Committee and finally from the House Business Committee, the Maltese Parliament issued a reasoned opinion on 20 January 2021.
