Information on parliamentary scrutiny
On 10 November 2020 the Immigration & Asylum / JHA-Council committee decided tot scrutinise all proposals concerning the Migration and Asylum pact. They decided to have an oral consultation with the State Secretary of Security and Justice on 1 December 2020 and a technical briefing from the European Commission which took place on 24 November 2020. After the oral consultation the committee has the intention to provide input for written consultation with the government. Furthermore, the committee would like to organise an expert meeting in the longer term.
On 8 December 2020 the committee decided to make an agreement with the State Secretary for Justice and Security about the provision of information on the migration and asylum pact. The letter to the State Secretary was send on 16 December 2020 and was replied by the State Secretary on 18 December 2020. The letter will be discussed on 12 January 2021.
